NAVASOTA, Texas — A man arrested on June 1 in Navasota is now being investigated for a possible tie to a homicide in Waller, according to Navasota PD.
That morning, Joshua Land, 29, of Waller, was taken into custody after police responded to a shots fired call at a convenience store parking lot in the city.
On June 3, Navasota Police requested that the Waller Police Department do a welfare check on his father. Waller PD later informed Navasota PD that Land's father had been found dead, and that they were investigating the scene as a homicide.
Land has been charged with deadly conduct, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct, and animal cruelty after a dog was found dead in the parking lot where he was initially arrested on June 1.
