Six eggs of Macaroni penguins wait to hatch in a Moody Gardens incubator in Galveston. Staff keep watch over the eggs, helping them to survive.

Moody Gardens is home to 10 Macaroni penguins. They are on exhibit now in the Aquarium Pyramid after traveling from Sea World San Antonio and the Detroit Zoo to make Moody Gardens their forever home.

"While we do everything in our power to give these eggs the best chance at survival, sometimes no chick is hatched at the end of the process," said Assistant Curator Diane Olsen.
