BRYAN, Texas — A much cooler day across the Brazos Valley thanks to a strong cold front that worked its way in just after midnight. Temperatures remained in the 60s & low-70s for most of the day thanks to cold air advection & cloud cover.
The cloud cover has hung pretty tough across the area throughout the day. This cloud cover will play an important factor in tonight's low temperatures. The cloud cover will act as a blanket, which will keep temperatures in the upper-40s & lower-50s instead of temperatures falling into the mid-40s.
An upper-level low to our west will keep periodic clouds in the forecast for Thursday, helping keep temperatures in the mid-70s for highs. Heading into Friday through the weekend, a storm system will deepen across the western United States, helping pull in warm & moist air into the Brazos Valley. Highs will climb into the 80s.
As the storm system approaches central parts of the United States by late Sunday into Monday, storm chances will increase for the Brazos Valley as a cold front is drug in by the storm system. A few storms may be severe on Monday before cooler temperatures move in.
Highs will be in the 70s with lows in the 40s/50s for much of next week.
