BRYAN, Texas — A gorgeous afternoon across the Brazos Valley thanks to a surface high centered over north Texas. The surface high to our north will keep skies clear and winds light which will lead to another cool morning on Wednesday. Lows will fall into the 40s & 50s.
The dry & mild conditions will stick around for Wednesday & Thursday. Highs will climb into the upper 70s & lower 80s. By Thursday afternoon, a very strong cold front will be racing south through western & northern Texas. Behind the front, temperatures will be in the 30s & 40s with snow in the Texas Panhandle. This front will move into the Brazos Valley around midnight Thursday dropping our temperatures into the low-50s with windchills in the 40s by Friday morning. Temperatures will remain in the 50s & low-60s for Friday. Storm chances will increase as the front moves through but should clear out by Friday afternoon.
Temperatures will remain cool over the weekend with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s. We are in a pattern that features frequent cold fronts over the next two weeks, thanks to a dip in the jet stream. This will prevent any major warmups through the end of October.
