HOUSTON — CenterPoint Energy posted an update on power restoration Friday night saying they expect 85% of impacted customers to be restored by the end of Sunday. That's up from the 80% they initially anticipated on Thursday.
So how are they doing so far? Here's a link to CenterPoint’s interactive map that they say shows restoration progress. Just note -- when we first posted the map, we heard from people in email and social media who said the map wasn't accurate.
We did notice on the map that estimated restoration dates started to appear on Thursday afternoon, though they were very sporadic.
POWER UPDATE: As of 8:00 a.m. Saturday, there were about 691,000 customers without power, according to CenterPoint.

CenterPoint said workers have started rebuilding the electric system in areas hit hard by Beryl in Brazoria County, Fort Bend County and up I-45 to The Woodlands. They said in areas with major damage, customers could be without power longer as crews put in new distribution poles and conductors.
