BRYAN, Texas — Enjoy the mild temperatures while they last because a cold front will move through the Brazos Valley on Tuesday. Overnight temperatures Monday will remain on the mild side as southerly winds continue to pump moisture into the area. Temperatures will only fall into the mid-60s by Tuesday morning. Areas of drizzle and spot showers are possible throughout the overnight hours and will continue into Tuesday morning. An umbrella is needed before you head out of the door Tuesday.
Rain chances increase throughout the day on Tuesday as a cold front approaches. This cold front will move into the northern zone around lunchtime then exit the southern zone by late-afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the low-70s before the cold front moves through. Temperatures will gradually drop into the 50s by early-evening so you may want a light jacket. Rain chances will continue once the front moves through as Pacific moisture at the mid & upper-levels streams into the region.
This Pacific moisture will continue to feed in, from the west, up and over the cold air behind the cold front. This will keep precipitation chances around on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will be chilly, in the low-to-mid-50s on Wednesday. Thursday looks to be even colder with highs in 40s. Luckily, the area will remain safely above freezing so only a cold rain is expected.
The Brazos Valley will average 1-2" of rain through Thursday. Higher rainfall totals are expected across the northern & eastern zone with the southern zone receiving lighter amounts.
Drier weather to end the week on Friday as a high pressure builds in.
