BRYAN, Texas — A weak cold front is moving through the Brazos Valley, which will allow temperatures Saturday morning to start off in the low-to-mid-40s as northerly winds usher in slightly drier air.
Winds will quickly flip back around to the east-southeast Saturday afternoon allowing temperatures to climb into the low-70s under mostly sunny skies.
The southeasterly winds will allow moisture to increase through Sunday. These southeasterly winds will become enhanced Sunday afternoon as a strong storm system approaches from the west. This storm will help pull in moisture aiding in shower chances increasing Sunday overnight.
As the storm system move to the north of the Brazos Valley on Monday, it will send a strong cold front south. Showers & storms will develop along this cold front thanks to the moisture in place. Isolated showers are possible in the Brazos Valley but the best rain chances will be just east of the area. From I-45 to the east, there is a good chance for a few storms on Monday. A few of these storms may be strong to severe, producing hail & gusty winds. Severe chances in the Brazos Valley are low.
Behind the cold front, temperatures will quickly drop into the 40s & 50s by Monday evening. Along with the colder temperatures, winds will be gusting from the north at 15-25 mph. This will drop wind chills into the 30s.
Cool temperatures will stick around through much of next week.
