HEARNE, Texas — A railroad crossing in Hearne will close for multiple days starting on Friday, Oct. 18 for planking repairs.
According to the Robertson County EMS, the crossing at the Sonic in town will close starting at 10 a.m. that day and will remain closed until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The closure was previously projected to last through Monday evening but was extended due to repairs taking longer than anticipated, according to TxDOT.
Detours and signage about the closure will be in place.
The detours available for drivers on the road include:
- Highway 6 northbound detouring west on US 79 to north on FM 1644 then east on FM 485
- Highway 6 southbound traffic detouring west on FM 485 to south on FM 1644 then east on US 79
- US 79 eastbound traffic to Franklin being diverted at FM 2549 to US 79
Drivers are encouraged to be patient while navigating the area and to consider planning alternate routes.
