HEARNE, Texas — TxDOT Bryan is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, March 7, at Hearne Elementary School to address traffic congestion going from State Highway 6 to Hearne.
According to TxDOT, the Bryan District is conducting a study on State Highway 6 and US 79 to improve mobility and provide relief for current and future traffic demands. The study will evaluate possible options for relief routes making sure to incorporate safety and modern roadway designs.
US 79, US 190, and SH 6 currently go through Hearne which means any approved changes to those roads could affect the residents of Hearne. Residents will have a chance to see all the things TxDOT is looking at and ask questions at TxDOT's open house style format on Thursday.
