TxDOT to move forward with final road work along William J. Bryan Parkway starting on Tuesday

The closures will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas — TxDOT has announced road closures set to take place in the final couple of weeks in February.

The closures are to allow crews to finish surface paving operations along William J. Bryan Parkway (FM 158), and will require the roadway being closed due to the width of the paving and striping equipment being used.

The schedule of closures is as follows:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 20: Eastbound lanes from Texas Avenue to Sue Haswell Park will be closed
  • Wednesday, Feb. 21: Westbound lanes from 24th Street to Texas Avenue will be closed
  • Friday, Feb. 23: Eastbound lanes on the south side of Sue Haswell Park will be closed
  • Feb. 26-Feb. 28: The aforementioned sections of roadway will be closed as needed for final striping

According to TxDOT, the closures will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and are a part of a large project that's expected to be completed in late 2024 or early 2025.

Homeowners that are only able to access their home from William J. Bryan are advised by TxDOT to avoid navigating the area during the closure times. However, contractors will be around to assist anyone that needs to get through.
