WALKER COUNTY, Texas — TxDOT Bryan has announced that the IH-45 northbound main lanes will fully close on Tuesday, April 18 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. for a bridge reconstruction at FM 1374 in a press release.
All northbound traffic will exit at EXIT 114 and stay on the frontage road, with drivers able to re-enter IH-45 before SH-30. Additionally, speed reductions will be in place for the duration of the closure.
The temporary closure is part of a larger $200 million reconstruction project of IH-45 that will expand the current four-lane freeway to a six-lane freeway with a concrete median in Walker County.
According to TxDOT, the entire project is expected to be completed in late 2026.
The closure is weather permitting.
