HUNTSVILLE, Texas — TxDOT Bryan has revealed that more closures are coming to IH-45 in Huntsville.

According to the advisory, the closures will take place from 8 p.m. in the evening to 5 a.m. the following morning for crews to pour concrete for bridge decks at the future FM 1374 U-turn bridges.

Here is the schedule for the closures beginning on Monday:

  • Monday, May 15: northbound main lane closure
  • Tuesday, May 16: southbound main lane closure
  • Wednesday, May 17: northbound main lane closure

During the closures, all northbound traffic will exit at EXIT 114 and stay on the frontage road, and will be able to re-enter IH-45 again before SH 30. Similarly, all southbound traffic will exit at EXIT 115 and stay on the frontage road, and will be able to re-enter IH-45 again south of FM 1374.

TxDOT cautions drivers to be cautious when driving through the area. Detour signage and reduced speed limits will be in the area to inform drivers of the closures.

The closure is weather permitting, and is part of a larger $200 million reconstruction project of IH-45 that will expand the current four-lane freeway to a six-lane freeway with a concrete median in Walker County.
