BRYAN, Texas — A pedestrian is dead after an accident near Highway 6 in Bryan.
According to Bryan PD, the crash occurred in the 1700 block of North Earl Rudder Freeway around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. The victim, identified in an update Wednesday afternoon as Phil Phillips, 63, of Bryan, was found dead when officers arrived at the crash site.
Police say the driver of the car that hit the victim remained at the crash site and has cooperated with authorities as they investigate the incident.
While the crash was being investigated, Highway 6 northbound was closed, but has since reopened.
Police say an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
