TxDOT to perform road work on Wellborn Road in College Station starting Monday

The work is expected to span two months.

COLLEGE STATION, Brazos County — More road work is coming to College Station roads, according to the Texas Department of Transportation Bryan District.

Starting on Monday, the section of Wellborn Road between Mortier drive and William D. Fitch Parkway will have its southbound left turn lane lengthened in order to make adjustments to the median at Graham Road.

There will also be median modifications that will make northbound traffic on Wellborn Road unable to make u-turns or left turns at Graham to go southbound. While construction is ongoing, the left turn onto Graham Road from Wellborn Road southbound will be temporarily closed.

The work is part of a larger project from TxDOT that will lengthen the left turn lanes of State Highway 47 at Leonard Road, the center turn lane on State Highway 21 at Cooks Point, and the center turn lane on US 79 in Franklin.

According to TxDOT, the road work will last about two months.
