BRYAN, Texas — A Bryan man is dead following a crash involving a Mack Truck on North Harvey Mitchell Parkway on Wednesday, police say.
Around 3:20 p.m. that day, police responded to a major accident in the 1800 block of North Harvey Mitchell Parkway. After about an hour of being at the scene, police closed the roadway from North Harvey Mitchell Parkway from Sandy Point Road to Highway 21.
Bryan PD says an initial investigation of the accident revealed that a 2002 Honda Accord was headed north on North Harvey Mitchell in the area that police were called to while a 2007 Mack Truck was headed southbound when the Honda veered into the southbound lane and hit the truck.
The driver, Bobby Ray Tates Jr., 49, of Bryan, was named as the victim in the crash. He died from his injuries after being taken to CHI St. Joseph ER in Bryan.
