COLLEGE STATION, Texas — New Texas A&M head baseball coach Michael Earley has taken another step in flushing out his staff, this time with the acquisition of former Washington Huskies head coach Jason Kelly, who will be joining the Aggies as the team's pitching coach.
The news was first broken on Sunday, June 30 by Travis Brown of The BCS Eagle with a second report coming shortly after from Baseball America writer Teddy Cahill. Kelly's resignation from the Huskies was announced later that day.
Prior to the move, Kelly was in his second stint at Washington. From 2013-2019, he was the Huskies' associate head coach and pitching coach before taking a job at Arizona State, where he would meet Earley.
The two were together in the 2020 and 2021 seasons at Arizona State before they split in 2022 to take up roles at Texas A&M and LSU. Kelly was with the Tigers for the 2022 season before returning to Seattle to accept the head job with the Huskies.
A welcome celebration for Earley is slated for Tuesday, June 2.
