COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Baseball season is in full swing in Aggieland, and the 2024 season has certainly been one for the record books. The Aggies are the top ranked team in the nation, and more eyes have been on the team than ever before.
However, with the increased attendance numbers, that's also come with some record crowds at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park, and head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle wants to be able to get more fans in the stands.
"Our guys believe there is something magical at home and it's because of the fans in the stands," Schlossnagle said in an article on 12thman.com. "We want to elevate our gameday experience to align with the rich traditions and unwavering support of our baseball program."
The last time the stadium received major upgrades was in 2011.
"The 12th Man has always stood ready to help in any way," Schlossnagle added. "We can enhance our gameday experience, provide more opportunities for fans to attend games and create a culture of excellence that keeps Aggie baseball at the top of collegiate baseball. Please take the time to give us your feedback by filling out this survey. We need your help."
In the coming weeks, the 12th Man Foundation will send out a research survey to baseball fans seeking input on facility upgrades and is a step towards one of the changes Director of Athletics Trev Alberts will be making for the university. However, the changes are likely far from the last ones that Alberts will look to make.
"I have only been here a short time, but I love the fan support our Aggie baseball team receives from the 12th Man," Alberts said. "They are passionate and want the very best for our baseball program."
