Luxury supercar manufacturer McLaren will be letting car fans take a peek under the hood of its Coppell headquarters this week.
On Friday, April 26, the company will open its American corporate HQ for a pair of open-to-the-public tours of its 31,000-square-foot facility, including its state-of-the-art workshop, its training facilities, and its bespoke customer specification center.
Attendees will also be given up-close looks at the latest McLaren model releases, including a special reveal of a series of McLaren road cars that have been produced in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Johnny Rutherford’s first Indy500 win, which came in a McLaren car.
With space limited for the two separate hourlong tours, which will be held at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., the company is accepting RSVPs on a first-come, first-served basis as this online registration page. Registrants must be over 18 years old to RSVP, and all guests must be over to attend. Filling out a registration form does not guarantee admittance into Friday's tours, but the company says it will contact all who fill out its form about future opportunities to tour the offices should space fill up for this round of visits.
After considering both the Dallas and Atlanta metros as potential new homes for its American operations, the U.K.-based McLaren announced plans to move to its Coppell property -- located at 1405 S. Belt Line Road -- in 2019 following a decision that it needed more space than its previous high-rise Manhattan office could provide.
Home to about 30 employees, the new Coppell facilities -- designed by the Dallas-based Merriman Anderson Architects firm -- officially opened for business in November 2022.
