Former Texas A&M coach Steve Addazio joins ESPN as college football analyst

Addazio coached Texas A&M's offensive line in 2022 and 2023.

Longtime football coach Steve Addazio, who previously coached offensive line at Texas A&M, will be joining the ESPN team this upcoming season as a college football analyst, the network announced on Friday.

“We are excited to welcome Steve Addazio to our talented roster of analysts,” said Amanda Gifford, ESPN vice president of production. “Steve’s vast experience and enthusiasm for college football make him a perfect fit for our coverage and we look forward to having him join us in the booth this fall.”

Addazio joins the ESPN crew with over 30 years of coaching experience and many years coaching at top programs around the country in offense-related roles and as head coach for three programs. Addazio most recently coached Texas A&M's offensive line in 2022 and 2023.

“I’m honored to join ESPN and share my love for college football with viewers across the country," Addazio said in an announcement. "I’m eager to utilize my coaching experience in a new way and bring my perspective and passion to the commentary booth.”

According to ESPN, Addazio will make his broadcast debut in Week 1 of the upcoming season as part of the network's college football coverage alongside play-by-play commentator Clay Matvick. The game that Addazio and Matvick will be casting has not yet been revealed, but will be made in early August.
