BRYAN, Texas — Alex Caruso is back home this week, teaching the next generation of Brazos Valley ballers what it takes to compete on the highest level.
Just a few weeks after signing a new two year, $5.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, the College Station native returned home for his inaugural Alex Caruso Basketball Camp. 58 students between second and eighth grade signed up.
"It's something I've always wanted to do," Caruso, a former Texas A&M and A&M Consolidated player, says. "One of my favorite things as a kid was going to A&M's and Consol's camp. Just get the kids together, roll out the ball and just hoop."
"Something I've always wanted to do, always planned on doing and finally I'm at the point in my career where I can settle down and have the time to actually do it."
Caruso led the kids on day one through a series of skill drills and games.
The camp runs through Wednesday.
