COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A second suspect is in police custody, charged in connection with a College Station gas station robbery that took a clerk's life, according to College Station Police.

Robert Earl McCullough, 26, was booked into the Brazos County Jail on March 16th and charged with Robbery.

His arrest comes after Rufus Lockett, 29, was indicted by a Brazos County Grand Jury on Capitol Murder charges in the death of gas station clerk Anita Jean Randle, 54. Police say Lockett shot Randle while robbing the Valero gas station on Rock Prairie Road.

Lockett was first arrested in connection with two violent convenience store robberies: one at the Valero and another at the Apple Stop on Villa Maria. In that robbery, a clerk was shot but survived, sustaining serious injurious.

He is also charged with Aggravated Robbery and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

McCullough's connection to the robbery is unclear, but jail records do put his offense date as the same date of the Valero Robbery.

As of Tuesday night, McCullough was in the Brazos County Jail, held on $30,000 bond.
