COLLEGE STATION, Texas —
Texas A&M University introduced its new athletic director Ross Bjork to College Station Monday afternoon at Kyle Field's Hall of Champions.
Bjork was given a customary maroon jacket by TAMU President Michael K Young and held up the Gig 'Em alongside Young and current interim Athletic Director RC Slocum.
Later on Monday, Bjork addressed the media, remarking on his family's love for college town's and broad goals for the A&M Athletic Program.
"If I remember right, I was in the press box and it was shaking," Bjork said, referencing his first trip to Kyle Field in 1998, which began his interest in A&M. "If the stadium is shaking, you know you're in a special place."
Bjork, who served as Director of Athletics at the University of Mississippi beginning in 2012, will succeed Scott Woodward, who left in April.
Bjork will begin his work at A&M beginning July 8, 2019.
