BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas — Walmart and Sam's Club locations in the Brazos Valley are now offering the COVID-19 vaccine. It is being offered in these stores across the state of Texas. You must set up an appointment and cannot simply walk in and ask for the vaccine.

Walmart officials said the superstore is set to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in more than 1,000 locations in 22 states the week of February 9. Officials said they are focusing on underserved communities that have limited access to health care. Texas has been partnering up with Walmart in a special program to get the COVID-19 vaccine available to the population as quickly as possible.
"The Federal Retail Pharmacy Program is another important step in public health's effort to vaccinate Texans," said Dr. John Hellerstedt. Dr. Hellerstedt is the commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services. "It means more vaccines available to more people in more places, and we appreciate the pharmacies' willingness to help vaccinate our priority populations."

If you sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine through Sam's Club or Walmart, you will be asked to complete a profile so the scheduler will be able to send you a reminder when you need to come in for your second shot. You do not need to be a member of Sam's Club to sign up for the vaccine. Appointments will be available seven days a week.
