BRENHAM, Texas — Blue Bell Creameries has a new head man.
Nearly four months after Ricky Dickson--the now-former president of the company--announced his intentions to retire in September 2023, Blue Bell has revealed that Jimmy Lawhorn, who was most recently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the company, will step into the new role.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jimmy for over 20 years,” Dickson said in a news release on bluebell.com. “Jimmy is intelligent, determined, and humble. He is a man of integrity and loves his family and community. I could not be more pleased that he will be the next leader of Blue Bell.”
The new Blue Bell President has been with the company for 26 years, and held a number of managerial roles throughout his time with the Brenham-based creamery.
“Jimmy is an accomplished and visionary leader who brings a wealth of experience to his new role,” Blue Bell Board Chairman Jim Kruse said in a news release on bluebell.com.” With Jimmy’s proven track record of strategic development and driving growth and innovation, we are confident the company will continue to be a beloved, high-quality brand for our customers.”
Lawhorn's transition into the role of president is effective immediately.
