COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M University is set to hire Nebraska Director of Athletics Trev Alberts as it's new athletic director, according to reports by TexAgs.
Alberts, who has been at Nebraska since July 2021, recently signed a new contract which raised his salary to $1.7 million and was supposed to keep him at Nebraska through 2031, according to TexAgs.
This all comes after former Texas A&M Athletic Director Ross Bjork left for the same position at Ohio State in January. Alberts will become the Aggies fourth athletic director since 2012 and he will replace Interim Director of Athletics R.C. Slocum.
The search committee that was created to fill the position included Slocum, Joni Taylor, Jim Schlossnagle, Joe Fields, Chris Cooper, Paul Batista and Susan Ballabina.
