Texas A&M has been included in a list of the "Best Colleges for Future Leaders" by TIME magazine. The university ranks 23rd on the list.

The ranking was done by TIME and Statista, who "analyzed the resumés of 2,000 top leaders in the U.S.—politicians, CEOs, union leaders, Nobel winners, and more across sectors—to assemble a list of the universities and colleges where they received their degrees."

While Ivy schools like Harvard, MIT, and Princeton were highly ranked on the list--which many would consider to be expected given the prestige of the universities and caliber of graduates that emerge from the aforementioned institutions--it wasn't too far down the list before other schools with a larger alumni footprint began appearing. The University of Texas at Austin made an appearance at 14th on the list, while Baylor sat comfortably in the top half at 40th.

"For more than 145 years, Texas A&M has been instilling the values and skills that propel former students to become trailblazers in their chosen fields. Time and time again, Aggies are at the leading edge of businesses, ideas and policy," said Interim President Mark A. Welsh III to Texas A&M Today. "At Texas A&M, we don't just educate minds, we inspire and shape the leaders of tomorrow."

The list of universities from the Lone Star State that made the list include:

  • Texas A&M University
  • The University of Texas at Austin
  • Baylor University
  • Trinity University
  • University of Houston
  • Rice University
