COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M's Parsons Mounted Cavalry is set to break a record this upcoming spring semester.
The unit, which consists of 86 Corps of Cadets members and 70 horses and mules, has planned seven appearances at many different events across the Lone Star State, starting on Jan. 18. In total, Parsons Mounted Cavalry will travel over 1500 miles, a new record for a single season.
The unit's appearances include:
- Aggie Night at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo - Jan. 18
- The Citrus Parade in Mission - Jan. 27
- The Washington Heritage Parade in San Antonio - Feb. 3
- Washington's Birthday Celebration in Laredo - Feb. 17
- The San Antonio Rodeo, where the PMC will serve as the color guard - Feb. 23 and 24
- Houston Rodeo Parade - Feb. 24
- The Battle of Flowers Parade in San Antonio - April 26
