AUSTIN, Texas — A Silver Alert has been discontinued for a missing 79-year-old man who had last been seen on Monday evening.
The Round Rock Police Department was searching for John Passwaters, who is diagnosed with a cognitive impairment.
Prior to the alert's discontinuation, Passwaters had last been seen around 5:11 p.m. at 1515 W. Highway 21 in Caldwell, in a beige 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe with Texas license plate CVR2153. The driver’s side mirror is cracked and painted red, Texas DPS said.
Passwaters is described as a white man, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 160 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray sweater with a Nike logo on the front, blue jeans and blue tennis shoes.
Law enforcement believed his disappearance posed a credible threat to his health and safety.
