BRYAN, Texas — Despite a shelter-in-place decree given by Brazos County Tuesday, a group of teens allegedly thought it would be the perfect time to commit some perfect crimes. It didn't work out that way, though, as the Bryan Police Department said all of the teens were caught, with the exception of one. At last check, police were still looking for that individual.
The Bryan Police Department said they believe the same group of teams committed a series of crimes that started Wednesday, March 25, starting just before 8:30 p.m. The owner of a 1994 Ford Mustang told police their car had been stolen in the 3500 block of Plainsman Lane.

At 8:45 p.m., police responded to the Handi Stop on the 2800 block of North Texas Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle. The owner of a 2003 black Cadillac CTS said they had left their vehicle unlocked with the engine running and ran inside the store.
At 9:55 p.m., a customer at RaceWay told police they caught two males trying to take property from their unlocked car. The customer said when they confronted the two males, they dropped all of the property, got into a black Cadillac and drive away. Police said they believe it to be the same Cadillac stolen from the Handi Stop.
At 10:22 p.m., while Bryan Police were investigating the attempted theft at RaceWay, they spotted the stolen Ford Mustang nearby and made a traffic stop. Two 15-year-old males were found in the car. The teen who was driving was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. His passenger was released to a parent.
At 11:04 p.m., police patrolling the area of North Sterling and West 24th Street spotted a 2019 Toyota Corolla driving without headlights on. When officers stopped they car, they found a 14-year-old male behind the wheel. Officers said they believe this male to be involved in the evening's earlier crimes. His 14-year-old female passenger's parents owned the car and the teens had taken it without permission, according to police. Both teens were released to their parents.
On Thursday morning around 9 a.m., the black Cadillac CTS was found in a vacant field in North Bryan. The search for another suspect continues at this time.
