Firefighters extinguish structure fire at unoccupied home in Old Washington

According to the Washington VFD, the cause of the fire has not been determined.

WASHINGTON, Texas — Just before 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, a fire was reported in Washington.

The fire involved a single-story home that was unoccupied on Sweed Road in Old Washington, according to the Washington VFD. The organization says they are unsure of what caused the fire, and nobody was injured.

In addition to the Washington VFD, the Meyersville VFD, Chappell Hill VFD, Prairie Hill VFD, Sheriff's Department, EMS and Brenham Air Trailer helped with the operation.
