Mobile home destroyed in late Sunday night fire in Caldwell

Three volunteer fire departments were in the area to assist with fighting the fire.

CALDWELL, Burleson County — A one-acre grass fire that ignited late Sunday evening was responded to by three volunteer fire departments in the Burleson County area.

According to the Snook Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), the fire occurred in the Beaver Landing and Beaver Creek Drive area between Snook, Lyons, and Caldwell. The fire was first reported at 10:34 p.m.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the grass fire by 12:15 a.m. on Monday, but a double-wide mobile home became fully engulfed in flames. Snook VFD reported that the structure fire had been contained just before 1 a.m. The Red Cross has been contacted for the family whose home was affected.

No word on what started the fire was given.
