No one injured in College Station apartment fire

A fire in College Station resulting in more than a dozen people being displaced for the night.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The College Station Fire Department responded to a call about a structure fire at the Southgate Apartment earlier this afternoon. When firefighters arrived on scene they found one apartment with fire in it.

According to the acting College Station Fire Department Battalion Chief, everyone was evacuated immediately, all residents and pets were accounted for, and no one was injured. The fire caused damage to one unit and as a result, CS Fire had to displace everyone in that unit for the night, which affected approximately 12 apartments. The single unit that was burned won't be ready for a while as they work to make repairs.

CS Fire says they are still investigating the cause of the fire but don't suspect any suspicious causes.
