COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A College Station man has been arrested after allegedly threatening his neighbor with a gun.
Roger Sumrall, 19, of College Station, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He's accused of making the threats of violence towards his neighbor after a dispute over speeding in the neighborhood.
It happened Sunday on the 1200 block of Haley Pl. Police said the victim told them he was dropping off a letter to Sumrall's home because he was concerned with how fast his neighbor was driving when going through the neighborhood. The man said he just wanted Sumrall to slow down.
The man said when Sumrall arrived home, the two neighbors began arguing about Sumrall's driving. The man said Sumrall's dog, a German Shepherd mix, jumped out of the vehicle's window and began barking at him aggressively. The man said he yelled for Sumrall to pull his dog back, which Sumrall did, according to the victim, and the two of them got into the vehicle.
That's when the man said Sumrall pulled out a gun and pointed it at him through the driver's side window. He said Sumrall then threatened to kill the victim.
When police got to the scene, they said Sumrall told them he did have a gun in the car, but didn't threaten to kill his neighbor and never pointed it at him. However, upon questioning the neighbor, the police said the neighbor was able to provide a specific description of the gun, including specific markings.
Sumrall was arrested and at last check, remains in the Brazos County Jail on $15,000 bond.
