BRYAN, Texas — A GoFundMe that was created for the victim of a shooting that took place in Bryan on Monday, Aug. 5 is a quarter of the way to its goal.

That evening, Keianna Hines was shot by Dequanjna Johnson of Bryan in the 700 block of Dansby Street. Although she was given medical treatment from first responders, she later passed away at the CHI St. Joseph Hospital ER. Since the incident occurred, Johnson turned herself into police and is in the Brazos County Jail on an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Charge.

According to organizer Stephanie Hathaway on the GoFundMe page, the funds are to allow Brazos County Detention Center officer Brionna Toliver to arrange the funeral, cover costs of arranging for a burial plot, and also pay for cemetery costs for Keianna among other expenses.
