BRYAN, Texas — A Bryan-College Station food scene staple is closing its doors after over two decades of serving award-winning barbecue to customers.

Fargo's Pit BBQ announced Friday afternoon that they would be closing down after over 24 years open.

They're located in a building that used to be home to a Chinese restaurant, and contains many photos and other memorabilia, including a jersey of Bryan native and former Texas A&M football alumni Ty Warren from his time with the New England Patriots.

They also have on hand a few magazines from near and far that showcase their award-winning barbecue that has been featured in European magazines, Southern Living, and Texas Monthly.

A note from Alan Caldwell and Belender Wells thanks the community and customers for their support through the years. It can be found below:

To our Fargo's Pit BBQ family.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of Fargo's Pit BBQ effective July 6, 2024. After over 24 years of serving the Bryan-College Station commuinty with passion and pride, we must say goodbye.

This decision was not made lightly. Despite our best efforts and dedication, the challenging economic climate has made it increasingly difficult to sustain our operations. We are grateful for the support you have shown us and cherish the memories we've shared.

To everyone who has visited us throughout the years, we extend our deepest gratitude for your patronage. You have been the backbone of our restaurant, and we couldn't have come this far without you.

Thank you for being a part of the Fargo's legacy. We will miss you all dearly.

"Without a doubt..."

The restaurant is located at 1701 South Texas Avenue in Bryan.
