DALLAS — Students at UT Dallas started classes this week, and while the transition from summer to academic year may have been smooth for most people, a handful of students at the university faced some adversity right out the gate.
A viral TikTok shows the chaotic scene inside dorms at UT Dallas as students attempted to clean up flooding in their rooms.
According to the university, a valve broke last week and caused water to flood multiple areas of a dorm. However, the university said it was fixed quickly and no rooms were damaged during the flooding.
A TikTok posted by user @livyker depicts just how much flooding the broken valve caused.
In the video, which has amassed nearly two million views, water can be seen coming from the ceiling in one of the hallways as multiple students attempt to sweep, mop and even vacuum up the copious amounts of water.
It's not entirely clear which dorms were affected, but multiple commenters have indicated that it was Capella Hall.
So, while this school year might not be off to the best start for these students, we sure hope they have a great, successful and dry semester!
