Car crashes into College Station home through backyard, dog killed

Police say a dog that was in the backyard when the crash occurred has unfortunately died.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Three people were injured and a dog died after a car crashed into a home in College Station Thursday morning.

According to College Station Police, officers were notified of the single-vehicle crash taking place at Wellborn Road and William D. Fitch Parkway in town, but discovered the crash ended in the backyard of a home on Oldenburg Lane.

Police say the house sustained "major structural damage." A dog that was also in the backyard at the time of the crash also died. The three people that were in the car, an adult man and two children, were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

CSPD says they are investigating the crash and have temporarily shut down the inside lane on Wellborn to remove the car from the backyard of the home it crashed into.
