COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Choir of Man opens its North American tour Tuesday in Rudder Auditorium.
OPAS is bringing the musical stateside for the first time.
The show focuses around nine men in a pub who sing and share their stories.
"It is as if the audience walks into a pub in the middle of Ireland," director and co-producer Nic Doodson said. "We look at you, put a pint in your hand and welcome you to the party."
OPAS Executive Director, Anne Black, said the show portrays what it is like inside a small pub community.
"It's a community tavern," she said. "Everybody knows you. You go and sit around and have a good time."
Doodson said a lot of work has been put into the show so he is excited for people of College Station to see what it is all about.
"If you want to experience what a night in an Irish pub looks like, come down and see the show," he said.
Mark Loveday is one of the cast members and said he has spent his whole life training to tour and perform.
"I love the pub," he said. "To be able to do a show in the pub, and drink beer, it's a huge bonus."
Tickets to the show are still available. To buy tickets, call the box office or visit their website.
