Burn ban issued for Burleson County

Despite the seasons changing, conditions have not changed enough to keep officials from instating a burn ban.

BURLESON COUNTY, Texas — A county-wide burn ban has been enacted in Burleson County.

The order, which was issued on Monday, prohibits outdoor burning and will result in fines for those that do not obey the burn ban. According to an announcement from the county, the order does not apply to cooking that takes place outdoors "in an enclosed BBQ pit or grill with a lid."

Other counties in the Brazos Valley and Central Texas have instated their own burn bans over the past few weeks, including Milam, Robertson, and most recently Brazos County, who put forth their own burn ban on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

Burleson County is now under a Burn Ban as of 9/23/2024. Cooking in an enclosed BBQ pit is not prohibited.….
