The College Station City Council appointed Bryan Woods as its new city manager Thursday evening.

The College Station City Council appointed Bryan Woods as its new city manager following the council’s executive session Thursday evening. Woods will assume his new position on Monday, Dec. 3.

"This is an extraordinary opportunity for my family and me, and I'm grateful to receive the city council's confidence," Woods said.

Mayor Karl Mooney said Woods is recognized as an outstanding city administrator.

"We believe Bryan will be an excellent fit for our city, enabling us to maintain the quality of life that College Station residents enjoy and expect," Mayor Mooney said.

Woods has served as assistant city manager of New Braunfels, Texas, since 2017.

Woods holds a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering technology from University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s from University of Missouri-Truman School of Public Affairs. He also serves as a civil engineer corps officer in the United States Navy Reserve.

Woods will fill the vacancy created when Kelly Templin left this past Spring to lead Texas A&M University System’s new RELLIS Campus. Templin served as College Station city manager from 2013 to March 2018 .
