UPDATE: Police say gunman who fled scene of shooting in Bryan has been arrested

Police said the shooting was a result of an ongoing dispute between two people. They said they don't believe the public is in danger.

Arnoldo Romero, 21, of Bryan, was arrested in Anderson County Saturday. Bryan police said he is the one responsible for a shooting that took place in Bryan earlier in the day.

BRYAN, Texas — UPDATE: May 9, 2020

Bryan police said the man who they believe is responsible for a shooting on South Texas Avenue Saturday afternoon has been arrested.

Arnoldo Romero, 21, of Bryan, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He was arrested in Anderson County late Saturday. The condition of the victim in the shooting is not known at this time.

Bryan police are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday afternoon that left one man with serious injuries.

It happened on the 1400 block of South Texas Avenue just before noon. Authorities said an ongoing argument between two men erupted into violence after one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other man.

Police said the gunman then got into a car and left the scene. The victim is being treated at the hospital and authorities are still looking for the suspect. At this time, police said they do not believe the public to be in danger.
