Brandon Johnson, 40, of Bryan, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He's accused of stabbing two women and a man during a fight over a domestic issue.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — An argument over a domestic issue between a man and a woman turned violent Sunday night at a College Station apartment and left three people with serious injuries.

Brandon Johnson, 40, of Bryan, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police said Johnson attacked his ex with a knife and then turned on two people who had stepped in to help and stabbed them, too.

It happened just after 9:30 Sunday night in the 2400 block of Bosque Drive in College Station. Police said when they got to the scene, a large group of people had gathered in an alley near the apartment complex. Witnesses told officers at least three people had been stabbed.

According to witnesses at the scene, a man later identified as Johnson, had started arguing with a female victim over a domestic issue. Another female victim stepped in to help the other woman, according to court documents, and Johnson allegedly stabbed her in the chest with a knife. When another man stepped in to help, Johnson allegedly attacked him with the knife, knocking both of them to the ground. Witnesses told police Johnson then allegedly began stabbing the male victim multiple times in the back.

When a group of bystanders stepped in, witnesses told police Johnson began swinging the knife around and ended up slashing the leg of the first female victim multiple times. Witnesses said Johnson then got into his car and drove away from the scene before police arrived.

When officers caught up to Johnson, he allegedly told them he had gotten into an argument with one of the female victims, but a crowd of people had attacked him and he left. Officers said they did not find a knife with Johnson, but did see his keys had blood on them and Johnson had cuts to his fingers, which they believe is consistent with a stabbing.

The conditions of the victims are not known at this time. The male victim was stabbed up to five times and had other injuries, according to court documents.

At this time, Johnson remains in the Brazos County Jail. His bond has not yet been set.
