Brenham church in need of restorations

A 120-year-old Brenham church is weathering and in order to keep history alive, they need help from the community. KAGS Kacey Bowen brings you their story.

BRENHAM, Texas -- For Arthur Free and many others at the First Christian Church in Brenham, memories in this church go way back.

"My dad was raised here, my brothers and I were raised here," Free said.

A place that holds so much history.

"For me, its personal history," he said.

And like many others, this is a place he can call home. But, this "home" for him and the other church members needs some help.

Free said the outside of the 120-year-old building needs to be restored.

"Remove and replace all the siding around the church," he said.

But, that comes with a hefty price tag - around $100,000.

And while that is a good chunk of change, Free said it's important to keep the history and tradition alive for generations to come.
