Support Local: Innovative Fitness aiming to keep the Brazos Valley healthy while social distancing

Along with daily Facebook live group workouts available for everyone, Innovative Fitness is doing one-on-one Zoom classes and creating personalized workouts.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — At 6 a.m. Monday morning,Trevor Carney is going live on Facebook to host his daily strength training group workout.

"Our bread and butter is personal training, basic strength training and yoga," said Carney, owner and operator of Innovative Fitness.

One of Carney's favorite things about working in the fitness industry is helping people reach their goals.

"I can help encourage people to do better, I love that about the business. It totally feeds my energy level and what not," said Carney

Like many of people, the coronavirus pandemic is something Carney has never experienced before.

"This thing has really picked us up and slammed everybody," said Carney

Right now the gym at Innovative Fitness is closed, but that is not stopping Carney from helping the B/CS community by doing what he knows best.

Along with the daily Facebook lives available for everyone, Carney and Innovative Fitness are doing one-on-one Zoom classes and creating personalized workouts for its members.

"We've already got typed out written programs that we'll send clients and potential new clients, they can do at their house," said Carney.

The gym hosts Facebook lives Monday-Friday. It will host strength training workouts at 6 a.m. and Yoga workouts at 9 a.m.

Innovative Fitness is also allowing its members to take home workout equipment.

Although COVID-19 has stalled revenue for Innovative Fitness, Carney believes the tools he's learning now he will continue to implement in the future.

"The ones that are trying to get ahead now are the ones that don't waste this time," Carney said. "I feel like a student of trying to get ahead right now."

This is part of an ongoing series that highlights several businesses across the Brazos Valley during the coronavirus pandemic.
