COLLEGE STATION, Texas — TIME Magazine released its rankings of the top 100 U.S. colleges for creating leaders, and Texas A&M University in College Station ranked with the second highest score amongst schools in the Lone Star State.
Texas A&M finished at No. 25, right after University of Texas at Austin (No. 14), but above Baylor University (No. 40).
"What distinguishes these schools, experts say, is not necessarily that they teach students to be better leaders, but that alums receive more opportunities, and many companies have a vested interest in hiring them," TIME said.
The list cites Mays Business School as proof of its leadership-building abilities with an overall score of 82 out of 100; just one point shy of the University of Texas.
"Whatever a student may have learned at school, an elite diploma signals at least two things to prospective employers: survival of a difficult admissions process, and a high likelihood of intelligence," TIME continues.
