COLLEGE STATION, Texas — College Station ISD superintendent, Dr. Clark Ealy, has been selected as the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD new superintendent.

The SCUCISD board unanimously voted Ealy's appointment at a Board Meeting Tuesday night. He will replace the district's retiring superintendent, Dr. Greg Gibson.

68 candidates applied for the position. The SCUCISD board eventually narrowed down the candidate pool down to three, then in December recommended to hire Ealy.

At Tuesday's meeting, the board said Ealy will begin the position on Feb. 3.

Ealy has been with CSISD for 20 years, serving nearly 6 years as the district's superintendent.

The CSISD board will hold a special meeting Wednesday night discussing the search for a new superintendent. It is expected that the school board will name a interim superintendent.
