Madison County judge sentences man guilty for sexual assault of a child to 15 years

On top of Wesley Holdridge's prison sentence, he will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

MADISON COUNTY, Texas — On Monday, June 24, a 39-year-old man pled guilty to a second degree felony charge of Sexual Assault of a Child in Madison County, according to the district attorney's office.

He will now spend the next 15 years in prison and be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life once his time has been served.

In early March 2021, the county sheriff's office received a report about a child that was allegedly sexually abused. They investigated the report, and found that around the start of May in the previous year, Wesley Holdridge, the man recently sentenced, had sexually assaulted a teenage female under the age of 17 by forcing her to perform oral sex on him.

Holdridge was sentenced before Judge David Moorman in the 12th District Court. He faced a range of jail time from 2-20 years in prison, according to the district attorney's office.

"Our office will continue to fight to send adults who sexually abuse children to prison," said District Attorney Courtney Cain. "This young victim did the right thing by coming forward and law enforcement did a great job making a prosecutable case."
