MILAM COUNTY, Texas — An individual was arrested for a chase involving a stolen box truck Wednesday afternoon, according to the Milam County Sheriff's Office.
Around 2:15 p.m. that day, a box truck was stolen, with Lexington Police giving chase towards Milam County. Those officers were later joined by Lee County deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers. The Milam County Sheriff's Office was informed of the ongoing pursuit by the Lee County Sheriff's Office to assist in stopping the driver after the chase began.
As the pursuit entered Milam County, the sheriff's office deputies and Rockdale Police took measures to stop the vehicle, throwing spike strips to bring the stolen truck to a stop. A front tire was taken out by the strips, with the driver was unable to continue fleeing authorities in the stolen vehicle a short time after.
The chase came to a stop on U.S. 77 at the U.S. 79 overpass on the east end of Rockdale, according to the sheriff's office. One person was taken into custody, but their identity was not revealed.
