BRYAN, Texas — A student at Rudder High School was arrested on Thursday, March 9 for threatening to shoot up the school during a pep rally, according to a release from Brazos County authorities.
According to the report, officers were originally made aware of the concerning comments after other students told school monitors the 17-year-old in question said "Ms. Ima shoot up the school one day during a pep rally" and "made gun noises and pointed his hand like a gun" during seventh period at the school.
Additionally, the student also made similar gestures and comments towards other students that were passing by, which made them fear that a future pep rally would be shot up.
Police say no weapons were found when a Bryan Police officer arrived at the school and talked with the student.
The student has been charged with three counts of Terroristic Threat and is being held on a total of $6,000 bond, according to Brazos County Jail Records.
Because they are a minor, KAGS will not reveal their identity.
