PLANTERSVILLE, Grimes County — Multiple police departments made a breakthrough related to a theft of expensive equipment that took place on Tuesday, according to the Grimes County Sheriff's Office.
That day in the 1400 block of State Highway 105 East in Plantersville, a Grimes County Deputy discovered that four electrical bucket trucks had been burglarized. Roughly $30,000 of items were reported stolen.
However, a GPS tracker had been attached to some of the stolen items, which allowed authorities to track down where the stolen items were. Multiple agencies, including the Grimes County Sheriff's Office, Stagecoach Police Department, and Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were able to find roughly $10,000 of the stolen items in the Stagecoach area at two separate locations.
It was not mentioned if any arrests were made.
Authorities say the stolen items were returned to their owners, and that an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
